"Peony" 6x6

Oil on Panel NFS

I have wanted to paint a Peony for a while. My main concern was to capture the delicate nature of the petals. It helped to not be to heavy handed with the colors in shadow.

you have captured the peony rose beautifully and anything but heavy handed, the shadows and reflected light has also worked so well. r.

You have done it again...really beautiful and sensitive painting of the peony. In addition to hydrangeas, the peony is my favorite flower...My favorite arrangement includes those 2 plus the Casablanca lily, all in white. I really admire your treatment of the shadows.

One of my favourite flowers, beautiful light you have captured falling on the petals and the sheltered heart, lovely M :)
