"Little Bird" 6x6
It has been a while since I have been able to complete a small painting for my blog. For the last few months I have been hard at work on several large commission pieces. Now that they are completed I can turn to my small works again. I have missed doing them.
I have been collecting vintage tin toys for years and have amassed quit a collection. Many are spaced themed. I especially like ray guns. Came across this little wind-up bird a while ago. Stands about 4” tall. When you wind it up it hops and flaps its wings. Thought it was very cute and knew as soon as I saw it that I had to paint it.

Delightful work. I know what you mean about commissions. I've just enjoyed painting three cherries for the same reason.

Paintings good piece of art work.liked the shadings in eyes.very realistic.
I don't know how you paint in oils on something this size and not leave brush strokes. It looks almost airbrushed.
The oil paintings which are shown in the above page are very nice . I just love it.
