"Two Figs" 8x8

8x8 Oil on Hardboard

I am back in my studio, after my Christmas break, working on some larger paintings, but I wanted to take time out to paint and post “Two Figs”. I don’t eat a lot of figs but the colors of this delicate fruit keeps my coming back.

Our “Challenge” for this month will be coming a little later on in the month. Jelaine has picked the subject and Otto and I have it in hand. Can’t wait to see what those two come up with.

You have captured the colours beautifully here M. I too love the look of figs but I don't like eating them!

Ya, the late Challenge date is my fault. Sorry about that. I used to eat locally grown figs. Their taste, fresh off the tree, warmed by the sun was phenomenal. The way you've captured them here, you've brought out that same warmth. I can almost taste it again. (sigh)

M,
Thanks for your lovely comment on the Jewel Box Orchids!
Your work is absolutely stunning. I like how you've shown the Mighty Magnolia with the easel in the photo; it helps give the sense of scale. I look forward to seeing the Challenge painting from all three of your group!
